Study in Canada

Canada warmly welcomes foreign students who wish to study in Canada, and there even some special programs such as for those coming from Hong Kong. In addition to all the other requirements, there are now some COVID-specific issues that need to be addressed if you want to study in Canada.

We can help you gain the necessary permits if you want to study in Canada. We briefly discuss some of the relevant parts below. Contact Capstone Immigration for more information.

Study Permit

The first thing you need if you want to study in Canada is a study permit, and the application for a study permit has a few parts. You have to have already been accepted to a learning institution, and you need to prove the ability to pay for the education or have a scholarship.

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

After you graduate from the Canadian learning institution, if you meet certain eligibility criteria, you can apply for a post-graduation work permit or (PGWP). This permit must be applied for with 180 days of graduating.

Spouse and Family

If you want to study in Canada, it is possible to bring a spouse or common-law partner and dependent children with you to Canada for the duration of your study. In order to do this, you apply to bring your spouse and/or dependent children at the same time you apply to become a student.

Permanent Residency Options

After you have completed your studies, there are several ways to become permanent residents. These include Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP), Post-Graduate Work Permits (PGWP) and Federal Skilled Worker Programs (FSWP).

Those who wish to stay in Canada and become permanent residents have many options available. Some provinces, like Quebec, are also more eager to receive immigrants than others.

We can help you decipher the best method to choose for your path to permanent residency. There is much paperwork involved in these applications, and the use of skilled and experienced immigration consultants will make this process much easier and faster for you.
